Forklift aisles, loading docks, container yards, truck pads. Industrial asphalt needs thicker lifts, heavier base work, and a mix chosen for machinery that eats thin pavement alive.
Overview
Residential asphalt specs don't survive a warehouse yard. Point loads from forklifts, trailer dollies parked in one spot for days, and the constant rumble of heavy trucks will chew through a thin mat in a single season. We spec industrial pavement to handle the actual loads your operation puts on it.
Industrial mats typically run 4 to 6 inches of compacted hot mix over 8 to 12 inches of stabilized aggregate base. We adjust the numbers to match your heaviest expected load and the subgrade we find on site.
Dock approaches, apron pads, and trailer stacking areas get extra attention, thicker mats, reinforced edges, and drainage planned so standing water doesn't pool and soften the base over time.
We coordinate around your shift schedules, loading bays and yard traffic. Phased work keeps your operation running. Night and weekend work is available when it makes sense.
FAQs
Yes. We've paved industrial yards that can't shut down, using phased work, traffic control, and temporary surfaces to keep trucks moving. Tell us your constraints and we'll build a plan around them.
Typically double or more compared to residential. A standard driveway is 2.5 to 3 inches over 4 to 6 inches of base; a forklift aisle or truck pad might run 4 to 6 inches over 10+ inches. The numbers come from the actual loads.
